We have three 'terms' during the year (Spring, Summer and Autumn).
Each term is roughly about 12 weeks and I teach one Ballroom dance for 6 weeks followed by one Latin dance for 6 weeks. If there are more weeks in the term then we add in a fun, bonus dance.
We change the dance styles every term so we can cover as many dance styles as possible.
Every week we teach a few figures or steps i and then build on that week by week. Even though we repeat and consolidate on what we are learning (plus we also post videos of the steps in our WhatsApp group) we do recommend all students try to come to the first few weeks of a new dance. But it doesn’t matter if you miss a week here or there as there are plenty of opportunities to catch up.

Yes! There is always a benefit from doing a dance class, even if you don't have a partner.
However, please be aware that the classes are structured for couples so there may be a bit of waiting around whilst the teacher is explaining the leader's steps and then the follower's steps.
If you would like to dance with someone else then we can partner you up with any other solo dancers in your class. Or the teacher / assistant teacher can dance with you, if you would prefer, although they sometimes have to help with teaching so won't be able to partner you for the whole class.
We highly recommend trying to convince (or bribe!) a friend or family member to come with you so you can experience the class as a couple.

Whatever is comfortable! You should be able to move easily and not get too hot or too cold (layers are good!).
For footwear, we recommend a shoe with a leather or suede sole (to help with moving) and avoid plastic or rubber soles because you will stick to the floor and could end up damaging your knees. Ladies would benefit from a heeled shoe if it's a Ballroom dance but it's not essential, especially if you are just starting out. Character shoes can be worn for Ballroom.
We always ask that you bring a spare pair of shoes to dance in and change when you arrive, to avoid getting the floor wet and dirty and to avoid stones / gravel tearing or damaging the dance flooring.
If you have any questions about shoes, please feel free to email us or talk to one of the teachers at class.

This is a tricky one! It is ultimately down to each couple to choose which class they think suits them best. We will never move anyone up or down. It is entirely your choice which level of class you attend.
A very general rule is if you have some previous Ballroom / Latin dance experience then Improvers might be more suitable. Improvers is taught at a Silver medal test level (roughly). If you have never done any Ballroom or Latin before, then Beginners is the best place for you to start. Improvers class is taught with an understanding that the dancers have a grasp of the basic steps and terms used in Ballroom and Latin. Beginners are taught as if you have never danced before in your life!
To help decide on which class is the right one for you, all dancers are welcome to come along and watch a class before deciding, and couples are always welcome to change levels at any time. Some dancers like to try both levels one week to see which one is better for them.

We try to teach a varied programme of dances to appeal to as many people as possible but we also know that some dances are not everyone's cup of tea! You can simply miss out that dance and join us again when the next one starts! We are never offended!
